NKP 765 Steam Excursions coming to Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
The Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive No. 765 schedule will bring steam excursions to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad this September. The NKP 765 will operate a variety of excursions with open window coaches, dome cars, photo runbys, and special events throughout the month.

N & W 611 invited to participate in 2014 NS 21st Century Steam Program
Fire Up the 611 is an effort to restore the last of the Norfolk & Western J Class 4-8-4 steam engines to operation and return her to passenger service. It is an ambitious campaign that will require the financial support of rail fans around the world.
Union Pacific No. 844, “Centennial” No. 6936 to lead Frontier Days special
Union Pacific 4-8-4 No. 844 and “Centennial” DDA40X No. 6936 will pull July specials for the “Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days” and a fundraising special for the Cheyenne Depot Museum.
Sierra Railway No.3 featured in Marx Bros. comedy “Go West”
“There’s a quarter of a million dollars at the end of the line!” and with that the Marx Brothers apply their schtick to the Old West. They run rings around each other and chase bad guys, culminating in a hilarious train chase sequence with the Hollywood legend 4-6-0 Sierra Railway No 3. In this 1940 Marx Brothers classic, Go West includes a special track that makes it appear the locomotive jumped off tracks and ran through farm buildings.

Steamtown National Historic Site to celebrate “Founders Day” with excursion train from Scranton to the Delaware Water Gap on June 29.
Memorial Day to kick off the Mt Washington Cog 2013 Steam Schedule
Steam returns to the slopes of the Northeast’s tallest peak this month. Starting on Memorial Day, May 27, 2013, one of the Mt. Washington Cog Railway’s small-scale 0-2-2-0s will climb the three miles of track to the 6,288 ft summit.

North Carolina Transportation Museum excursion May 17-19.
The Watauga Valley Railroad Historical Society & Museum and the North Carolina Transportation Museum Foundation will sponsor the “Lowcountry Limited” excursion train between Spencer and Charleston, S.C. The train will operate on May 17-18-19.
