September “Enthusiasts’ Weekend” on the Western Maryland Scenic
The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 2014 schedule includes plans to host its first “enthusiasts’ weekend” in late September. The event is part of the railroad’s 2014 operating schedule and follows a successful 25th anniversary celebration in 2013.
The “Friends of the 261,” in cooperation with Amtrak, BNSF Railway and Lake Superior Railroad Museum, will operate the Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 No. 261 pulling a Fall excursion from Minneapolis to Duluth, Minnesota.
Fall 2014 steam excursions on Reading & Northern 425
Reading & Northern 4-6-2 No. 425 will head up Autumn Leaf special excursions for the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway on Oct. 11-12. The trips will operate from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe. Tickets for the trips are $69 per person.
Conway Scenic Railroad farewell steam excursion May 31.
Conway Scenic Railroad No. 7470 will pull a farewell excursion on May 31 prior to be taken out of service in July for its federally-mandated inspection and overhaul.
