The Union Pacific Railroad’s 2012 September schedule will have the historic 4-8-4 steam locomotive No. 844 making appearances throughout Iowa and Nebraska as part of the railroad’s 150th anniversary celebration.
The Union Pacific No. 844 schedule calls for the railroad’s legendary steam locomotive heading to the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island, Pufferbilly Days in Boone, Iowa, and on to the North Platte Rail Fest!
The locomotive will be on display in Boone and and Ames, Iowa, and Grand Island and North Platte, Neb., during the trip. The railroad’s steam-powered exhibit train will depart its Cheyenne, Wyo., home on Aug. 30. and return on Sept. 17.
