The Central Coast Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society has announced plans to run Santa Fe 4-8-4 No. 3751 on a multi-day excursion from Los Angeles to Arizona and return. Proposed dates for the trip are May 12-21, 2012.

The 11-day steam excursion will be operated under contract with Amtrak, BNSF, and the Arizona & California Railroad. Final approval and contracts are still pending. Several options will be made available in both premium and regular class which will include domes, lounges, and coaches plus possibly sleepers. Roundtrip, one-way or one-day tickets will be available.
