Have you ever wondered what it would be like to operate a steam locomotive and be the engineer on a century old vintage steam engine? Now you can experience the excitement of being able to feel the power of the mighty Iron Horse at your fingertips as you blow the whistle, ring the bell and wave to the passing crowds. Experience this for yourself by signing up for the Locomotive Engineer Experience at Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association. This unique program has been offered for many years with the 1901 Steam Locomotive #643.
New for 2012 will be the opportunity to run a 1953 Vulcan 65-ton Diesel Electric Locomotive. In addition to running #52 by itself this year will be the chance to run #52 with a short freight consist! This is the first time the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association has ever offered the chance to run a locomotive with a train attached!
Reservations are VERY STRONGLY recommended as most days do sell out well in advance.
