Product Description
You get two shows on DVD with this program! In the first show, Steam to Huntington, we see history made as three steam engines headed for the NRHS Convention in Huntington, West Virginia. Pentrex crews captured the action as the Pere Marquette 1225 departed Owasso, Michigan with a freight bound for Lima, Ohio.
After Lima, Nickel Plate Railroad 765 led the two engines past their birthplace, double-heading on a freight train to Russell, Kentucky. You will ride along in the cab of the 765 as the two steam engines complete the last leg of their journey to Huntington. The N&W 1218 is also beautifully photographed as it makes a ferry move from Cincinnati to Portsmouth, Ohio, and on to the yard at Kenova, West Virginia.
In Huntington Steam Celebration we see all the big-time steam action as Pentrex crews cover the excursions of the 1991 NRHS convention held in Huntington, West Virginia. The four special trips were a great success and you’ll witness the lineside action as it was beautifully photographed. The 1218 is at its best working though the area in which it was built to run. The dramatic side by side running of the NKP 765 and Pere Marquette 1225 was the high point of the convention and Pentrex was there to capture this historic and spectacular event. These scenes will leave you breathless as you watch the two engines race down the double-tracked mainline.
