Union Pacific 4-8-4 No. 844 coming to the Midwest
This years 2013 Union Pacific No. 844 schedule will include June excursions to the Cornhusker State.

No. 844 will travel from its home base in Cheyenne, Wyo., to North Platte, Neb., on June 9, then continuing on to Council Bluffs, Iowa, on June 10. The locomotive will be on display at the College World Series in Omaha June 14-25.

UP will also operate a passenger special from Omaha to North Platte June 7 for the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska at the Hanging H Ranch between Paxton and Sutherland. Proceeds benefit cancer research and local health care. The train will depart the Durham Western Heritage Museum (Omaha Union Station) at 8:30 a.m. and arrive in North Platte at 2:45 p.m.
