Canadian Pacific No.1293 steam excursions coming to Ohio in September

Canadian Pacific No. 1293 to steam on the CVSR

The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad has announced a series of steam-powered excursions this fall headed up by Canadian Pacific Railway No. 1293. The steam locomotive is currently maintained and stored at the Age of Steam Roundhouse in nearby southeast Ohio. It is one of six remaining G-5 class locomotives in existence today.

The Great Southeastern Rail Days Festival will be held Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 3 from noon to 5 p.m. The Rail Days Festival offers great fun for families, rail fans, and anyone with an interest in the golden age of railroading!  This years event will feature three passenger trains, including the steam powered caboose train, the 30th anniversary celebration of the Southern Railway and Norfolk & Western merger, music, magic, railroad artist Andy Fletcher and much more. This event promises to be bigger and better than ever before!

Florida’s Orange Blossom Cannonball steam engine No. 2  returns Memorial Day weekend

Florida’s one of a kind Orange Blossom Cannonball steam engine No. 2 has been transported back to the Reader Railroad headquarters in Arkansas for its annual inspection. The inspection was expected to take 6 to 7 weeks to complete. Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad assured its fans that safety was their number one priority in everything they do.
