Travel back to 1944 this summer and enjoy a day with the famous steam locomotive NKP No. 765! Ride aboard a vintage freight train, photograph historic scenes straight out of
the 1940s, and enjoy a very special day for photographers, videographers, and
rail fans alike.
The NKP 765 will be powering a number of steam excursions this summer. The 765 will traverse the historic line of the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum, a scenic east-west stretch of railroad with trestles, rivers, and a recreated rail yard with signal tower, station, operating Nickel Plate signals, props, vintage automobiles, and actors in period dress. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Indiana steam railroading, dozens of runbys throughout the day, a ride in the cab of the NKP 765, and an extended night photo session in North Judson. The day will be catered to the patrons with dozens of opportunities to ride and photograph from sunset to sunrise.

operating steam locomotive east of the Mississippi.

THE TRAIN:
The freight train will comprise of several vintage freight cars from the Wabash,
Nickel Plate, Norfolk & Western and Chicago & North Western painted especially for
this event and a bay window Nickel Plate caboose that will carry an early 400 series
steam era number.
