Travel aboard recently refurbished private rail cars that were once a familiar sight during the first half of the 20th century.  Return back to a time when rail barons and wealthy socialites traveled the country on luxurious private railroad cars.

And now this form of luxury rail travel is being offering to everyone at a very reasonable price.

The excitement and fun begins as you board private railroad cars in Emeryville that will be coupled to Amtrak’s “California Zephyr”.  The journey starts as the eastbound train pulls out of the station at 9:10AM.  Arrival in Reno is scheduled for 4:06PM.

Passengers may also board the Domes over Donner Pass to Reno excursion at Martinez, Davis,  Sacramento or Roseville.  Once on board, the party will begin with plenty of food, drink and first class award winning personal service along with some great scenery.

Passengers boarding at Emeryville, Ca. will be served a lite breakfast with juice and coffee.  As Domes Over Donner Pass to Reno heads eastbound from the Bay Area,  the train travels along the water’s edge of the San Francisco Bay with a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge.  After a fast ride across the Sacramento Valley,  you’ll begin the steep climb into the High Sierra Mountains with scenic views of towering mountains, deep canyons, lakes, rivers, and remote forests.

Along the way,  passengers will be able to see several old gold mining towns from the train, as they travel over the first Transcontinental Railroad which was completed in 1869.

After reaching the summit of Donner Pass at 6,891 feet,  you will begin your decent down  the eastern slope of the High Sierra following the Truckee River all the way to the Reno-Sparks area.  Before arrival in Reno hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served.
